ABCDs of Scoliosis

A 4-Hour Movement-Based Workshop for Pilates & Movement Professionals

Instructor: Angelie Melzer, NCPT, Licensed Gyrotonic® & Gyrokinesis® Trainer, Strain CounterStrain Practitioner

Course Description

Scoliosis is more than a spinal curve—it is a three-dimensional movement pattern that influences posture, breathing, balance, gait, and whole-body function. Understanding how to assess and work with these clients safely and effectively is an essential skill for every movement professional.

In this hands-on four-hour workshop, participants will learn a practical framework for assessing scoliosis and applying movement-based strategies that improve alignment, breathing efficiency, spinal mobility, and functional movement.

Through postural and gait analysis, breathing techniques, mirror imaging, centering strategies, and de-rotational movement principles, attendees will leave with immediately applicable tools to confidently work with clients who have scoliosis of all ages and abilities.
